Welcome!

Good morning,

I thought I would take this opportunity to formally introduce myself.

I am Lawrence Helliadis, and now hold the position of senior instructor for Flitwick ju jitsu club.

Some of you may know me, others may not.

I have been a student of Flitwick Jujitsu Club for over 30 years now.

Back when I was very young and obsessed with the karate kid, my father took me along to jujitsu lesson.

Why a ju jitsu lesson and not karate is beyond me!

I guess my father saw people in white pyjamas and thought it was all the same.

Luckily for me I found my passion and that was it, I was hooked and have been with the club ever since.

I’ve been through the all syllabus, from junior white belt up to my current grade of black belt 5th Dan.

I have grown up in the club.

Sensei Shelia and Sensei John have seen me go through many milestones in my life, one being having my own children train within the 4 walls of the dojo.

So, to be trusted with responsibility of their club in light of their retirement, is an absolute honour for me.

The instructors and myself will continue build on the strong foundations set by Mr and Mrs Neal.

Whilst there is change, the core principles of Flitwick Ju Jitsu Club will not change.

I am overwhelmed with excitement to open the doors of the dojo and see where the next chapter for Flitwick Jujitsu takes us.

See you in the dojo!

Lawrence Helliadis 5th Dan
